Irving Power Association recognizes the importance of sustainable resources and energy conservation options. We always plan toward the future, and support the use of renewable resources to help keep rates competitive. Energy conservation is important to our members. We are involved in setting regional policies for renewable resources.

We are working to:

  • Increase clean energy
  • Reduce emissions
  • Extend clean grid benefits

wind turbines along desert road at sunsetThe Bernalillo Wind Project was formed in 2015. Our members are able to receive competitive prices for wind power. Our wind farm creates economic benefits to our community.

The Bernalillo Wind Project:

  • 47.5 megawatt capacity
  • Cost is only 1 to 2 cents per kilowatt hour

several solar panels in desertThe Santa Fe Solar Project was formed in 2009. Members can save up to 8% of their load with our solar projects. They can offer their members green power programs to further support solar energy.

The Santa Fe Solar Project:

  • 39.2 megawatt power generated to our members
  • 101,071 panels
